While developing the seasonal calendar feature, we revisited the ancient text on the 72 pentads. The ancients' meticulous observation of nature is astonishing. Every five days marks a pentad, seventy-two in a year, each with its corresponding natural phenomenon. This refined awareness is what we hope to convey through Jie Xu.
On the Autumnal Equinox, day and night are equal. We wondered: shouldn't a good product achieve this kind of balance too — function and beauty, tradition and modernity, restraint and expression. Neither leaning nor falling, just right.
